Hi there! It is hard to believe but it has been almost one year since I posted my last article about my AmeriCorps service. This past year has been great: I learned a lot about non-profit organizations, the psyches of at-risk middle school students, and my own enthusiasm for service. It was a hard year, as well: in November I was in a car accident, during January I had a procedure to have a uterine polyp removed, and my little old puppy dog, Spot, died last week. Now it is time for me to move on to my next endeavor/adventure. In one week I will be moving to my new basement apartment in Garrett Park, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C. It is such a cute little community and it is only steps away from the Strathmore Music Center where the Baltimore Symphony plays and the Grosvenor Metro Station where I will be departing each day to ride to school!
I will be starting school on August 29th at American University to pursue a Master's degree (and eventually a PhD) in History. At this time, my plan is to concentrate in Early American history with a secondary concentration in Ancient Greek and Roman (Mediterranean). I hope to mesh these two fields of study together in order to do a comparative study which is, from what I understand, rather unique! I am excited about it!
On a more personal side, my boyfriend Trevor and I are getting "pretty serious!" For those of you who know anything about Trevor and I, you are probably either 1) a little confused or 2) laughing, because we have been dating for 5 years now! Anyway, I love him so much and hope that everyone will get to meet him sometime rather soon. We are going to get married one of these days and I think it would be nice for you to at least know what he looks like so I'll put his picture on this site somewhere, if you are interested.
Yes, so I miss everyone and would love to hear what other people are doing, as well! Let me know! I love you! Note: Thanks! We really enjoyed you're visit...
