It's been a long time...

Well.... I have to say that I thought I could remember taking care of small children. I have not had a baby in the house for 14 years. (excluding Gary).
Haven (the jewel of my eye) spent the night with us last weekend the 10th of January. I didn't want her to sleep on the floor and sleeping with Lauren was not the best idea for my daughter needs her 10-13 hours of beauty sleep now that she is in "High School".
So....Gary and I decided Haven should sleep in bed with us. Now mind you we are talking a 6' man, a small 13 month old, and a Big Girl that needs her space. All 3 sleeping in a Queen size bed. The night was a very long one. Each tick of the clock I heard. Between pulling Haven off the headboard, wishing she would stop slobbering on my head and face and kicking me in the throat, the 2 hours of intermediate sleep did nothing for MY beauty sleep. Although Gary and Haven looked quite refreshed when they awoke, the bags under my eyes were just a little blacker, my hair was still in place as if I had never been to bed and the bottle of Visine is all gone.
Well..I have learned a very valuable lesson from this first experience, in 14 years of keeping a baby overnight,
I'D HAVE IT NO OTHER WAY.
