Hi there! It is hard to believe but it has been almost one year since I posted my last article about my AmeriCorps service. This past year has been great: I learned a lot about non-profit organizations, the psyches of at-risk middle school students, and my own enthusiasm for service. It was a hard year, as well: in November I was in a car accident, during January I had a procedure to have a uterine polyp removed, and my little old puppy dog, Spot, died last week.

Our World Mandate from America!

The American voters have spoken and sent a clear mandate with the highest majority vote since 1988, to re-elect President George W. Bush. Along with the presidential mandate, voters have mandated the policies and direction of the country by electing additional Republicans to both the House of Representatives and Senate, filling the losing Vice Presidential candidate John Edwards' senate seat with a Republican, and ousting Democrat Senate leader Tom Daschle in favor of his Republican challenger.
